The right foot was still somewhat tender but healed enough to handle taking the extra stress of being my only functional foot for a few days. Dr. Gent took X-rays of the right foot and while the implant did back out a bit compared to the day of the re-do, it was still placed quite well. After 3 weeks, the HyProCure manufacturer claims the odds of the implant moving further are vanishingly small, so it seems like it is going to stay put from here on out.

Left foot has its own implant now

Dr. Gent installed a size #6 HyProCure in the left foot, the same size that I have on the right. His anesthetic injection technique has improved further since the last visit so it was quite a bit less painful.

As of today I am on post-op day 6. Today has been the first day that I can walk at all. This foot seems to be recovering more slowly than the right did back in December. I am happy to finally be done with the knee crutch. There is still some bleeding but I have been using these large waterproof band-aids to protect the wound while I shower.

I threw out my old shoes and put on a brand new pair yesterday. Hopefully these will break in well and support my new foot shape on both sides.

This is a follow-up to my previous post describing the surgery I had done on my right foot.
