This is a follow-up to\u00a0my previous posts describing the surgeries I had done on my feet.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am now on day 24 post-op from the left foot HyProCure surgery. I still haven’t gotten the stitches removed, but plan to do so tomorrow or Wednesday. I am experiencing minimal bleeding\/weeping and no longer need to keep any kind of bandage over the wound full-time. I still seal it up with a Tegaderm bandage<\/a> every morning before I shower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am fully mobile but still limited in how much time I can spend on my feet. The recovery for the left foot is proving to be about the same as the recovery for the right after the first time I had the surgery. I am experiencing the phenomenon of “good days” followed by “bad days,” where I feel good one day and move around a lot, but then that aggravates my foot and the next day walking is very painful and I have to stay off my feet as much as possible. Yesterday was a good day, today is definitely a bad day. Tomorrow will likely be a good day. The pain is mostly concentrated on the outside of the sole of my foot, in the midfoot area. I am having to roll my ankle outward and put most of the weight on the outer edge of my foot to avoid aggravating the actual site of the implant and I think what I am experiencing now is just a reaction to that \u2013 the pain is not at the incision site or near the implant itself, it’s at the part of my foot that is currently supporting far more of my weight than it’s used to. As I am able to walk on this foot more normally I expect these side-effect pains to be less and less of an issue. Gotta be patient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am still experiencing considerable discomfort on the right side as well, but that’s not particularly surprising. I am on day 45 post-op on that side. I expect I will still be having trouble on that side for another 2 to 4 weeks if not longer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not much else to report right now. Trying to be patient and let the healing take its course. Hoping to be out running a bit not long after the summer officially kicks off in a month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
